Much closer to a milkshake than our typical smoothies[1], this Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie is made rich and creamy by adding frozen bananas. My kids were so excited the first time I handed them these drinks with chocolate[2] drizzled on top. Even now that I've made it multiple times, this smoothie always disappears in the blink of an eye!
I love this treat almost as much as my kids do. The banana contributes a mere hint of flavor in the background of the smoothie. For a healthy two ingredient ice cream without any sugar added, check out the PB Banana Ice Cream[3] I made last year!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
Yield: (3) 10-12 ounces servings
(printable recipe)[4]
1 1/2 cups milk
3 bananas, frozen
2-3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
2-3 tablespoons chocolate sauce[5], plus more to drizzle
Layer ingredients into the blender and puree until smooth. Adjust the chocolate flavor to your preference. Pour into glasses and then drizzle the top with an additional teaspoon of chocolate sauce. Enjoy!
